Andrew Parker, LPC

Andrew  is a licensed professional counselor who has been practicing for twenty-six years. The past twenty-one have been in Star Valley, Wyoming.

Approach to therapy

His approach is to meet people where they are at, respect their values, and recognize that most people want a better life and are doing the best they know how. Adhering to practices proven to be effective, Andrew helps people find more skillful and effective ways to deal with problems.

Andrew takes people seriously, but is easy going, incorporates humor into his treatment, and is known be irreverent at times.

A general cognitive behavioral foundation is utilized with other specific treatments. In addition to having had specialized training, Andrew has provided training and supervision to other counselors in the following:

Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Spiritual Self Schema Therapy (3S)

Individual, Marital, and Group Therapy

Adapting the treatment to the individual, couple, or family's needs (rather than the other way around), while adhering to principles of proven treatments is the formula for successful growth and change.

Bachelor of Arts, Psychology; University of Wyoming, 1992

Master of Science, Counselor Education; University of Wyoming, 1994

Andrew loves the mountains and enjoys any opportunity to be in them. Hunting is one of his favorite pass times and he utilizes pack goats in his wilderness endeavors.

Married for 31 years, his family is his foremost priority. He is also involved in service in his church.
